Psalms 95:6,7 says "Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker, for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

At Oak Dale, worship is not a "spectator sport".  We sing and make music so we can worship God and enter into his presence.  Our worship is not a "warm-up" for the sermon, nor a "sing-a-long" time.

Worship at Oak Dale is focused on intimacy with God.  It is during worship that we can communicate with the Living God in a deep and personal way.  In worship, we turn our attention away from the pressures and stresses of daily living and focus on what God has done for us.  It is during worship that many people actually feel God touching them in their area of deepest need.

It is because we value intimacy with God that...

  • We sing for 15-20 minutes.  It takes time for people to focus and open themselves up to God.
  • We project the words to songs on the front wall rather than use songbooks.  We want people to focus on the Lord.
  • We usually sing songs with simple lyrics to help people focus on the Lord as they worship.
  • We use a variety of instruments with traditional and contemporary music styles.
  • We dress casually and have a simple auditorium.  Our desire is for any person to join our worship service and not feel out of place.  We try to make everything we do and say easy to understand and relevant.

Please feel free to participate in worship here at Oak Dale to whatever degree you feel comfortable.  Our prayer is that our worship service can become for you a wonderful experience of drawing close to God, a time when you will sense God's presence and know his love for you.

Sunday Morning Service times are 9:30am and 11:00am.
