2008 VBS at Oak Dale was held

from July 7 to July 11

Highlights of Vacation Bible School

This year’s theme was Son Harvest County Fair.

What an Exciting and Fun week had by all who attended and helped out.

Blue Ribbon Competitions – Wild Flower Competition (Winner – Cristy Enlow – Pre-K)

Favorite Animal Competition (Winners - Bella (dog) owned by the Byler children, Zoλ (dog) owned by Eddie & Bettie Goldman, & Misty (horse) owned by Amanda Marco

Poster Coloring Contest (Winners – one from each grade)

Pre K  – Megan Bender, K – Lauren Lowery, 1st – Micah Rollan, 2nd – Hannah Bodes, 3rd - Luke Lowery, 4th - Rachel Brobst, 5th - Ashley Jones, 6th - Jeff Beal, 7/8th – Morgan Yoder, Adult – Bethany Bender

Most Unique Rock Competition – (Winner – Dylan Butler- 3rd grade)

Best Dressed Farmer Competition - (Winners - Bobbie Lapp & Michelle Brobst) 

Every child that came took home a certificate for participating.

The Worship Music Team along with Auntie Opal (Anna Mast) & Uncle Zeke (Troy Mast) along with Annie (Melanie Byler) & Terrance Clarence (TC) (Joel Bender) did a spectacular job with doing a skit every night incorporating the word of God about:

              LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE & KINDNESS.         

The children watered a growing watermelon with their offering every night. We collected $ 321.05, which we will send to Aim Right Summer Camp they will be going to El Nathan Christian Camp in Flagstone, Arizona.

We had a great number of kids each night 75,77,74,70 & 72 

Funny Fruit Hat Wearing Teachers - Joe, Naomi, Michelle, Darlene & Jenelle which went to the class that had the highest increase of kids for the evening.

Class time was learning bible verses, cute crafts and fun games were done & played.

Snacks were awesome Fair Fun Food – dirt with gummy worms, caramel apples, fruit parfaits, ice cream sundaes and the final night hot dogs, cotton candy and popcorn.

A big thank you to Isolde Porter who was the director of VBS this year and for Jim Porter who ran around and did a little of everything and for all the teachers, staff, activity/craft leaders, kitchen staff, decorators, worship team, sound, photographers and for all the children that came that God may Bless them and keep them safe and that they will continue to learn about God.
