Oak Dale is a place where people find friends to share the
joys and sorrows of life with. We believe that fellowship
is basic to what it means to be a Christian. The Bible
teaches that Christians are not only reconciled to God, but
also united with other believers in what is called the body
of Christ, or the Church. Countless verses in the Bible
tell us how to relate to each other. The phrase "one
another" appears over 60 times, urging Christians to such
things as love, honor, encourage, be patient with, and care
for one another.
Unfortunately, it is hard to
experience the "one another" concept by just attending a
worship service. While our weekly worship service is a very
important part of our church life, it's at our
small group
meetings during the week that we can experience fellowship.
We believe our God is a
caring God who wants us to know the richness and support of
a caring community. Our small groups offer close, accepting
relationships through careful listening, forgiving
attitudes, and personal care. We urge you to make time in
your life to participate in a small group fellowship.
A Small Group is a group of
five to fifteen adults plus children meeting informally,
usually in homes, for a time of fellowship, Bible study,
dialogue, and prayer. The focus is allowing Christ to
minister to you and through you. The objective is to love
Jesus Christ, to let Christ love you, and to let Christ love
others through you.
All our small groups are open
to anyone who would like to visit and "check them out".
