Do you feel something is missing in our life? Is it God?
Many people go to church because they are looking for God.
The famous French mathematician Pascal, said that inside
every person is a God-shaped void that only God can fill.
God wants to have a relationship with you and to fill the
emptiness you feel inside.
 The central theme in the
Bible is God's love for you. God loves you and every
human. He wants to bless your life and make it full and
complete. He offers you not only an abundant life here, but
a life with Him for eternity.
First the Bad News. You are
a sinner. Romans 3:23 says "All have sinned; all fall short
of God's glorious standard." You, and everyone else, have
done wrong things. This means you can never do enough good
things to erase your sins. Sin keeps you away from God.
Romans 6:23 says "the wages of sin is death". Your sin has
earned you death or separation from God, for eternity.
Now the Good News. John 3:16
says "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but
have eternal life." Suppose you are dying of cancer, and I
come to you and say "I will take the cancer cells out of
your body and put them into my body". You would be healthy
and I would die in your place. The Bible says Jesus Christ
died on the cross for your sins; he died in your place.
Romans 5:8 says "But God showed his great love for us by
sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners."
Here is what you can do to be
forgiven of your sins and begin a love relationship with
God.
- Admit that you are a
sinner and need a saviour.
- Believe that Jesus
Christ died on the cross for your sins.
- Ask Jesus to forgive you
of your sins and surrender your life to Jesus.
- Here is a simple prayer
you can follow: "Dear Lord, I know I'm a sinner. I
don't do what I should, and I do a lot of things that I
shouldn't. I know my sin deserves to be punished. I'm
sorry for my sins. I know Christ died for me. I
believe he rose from the grave and is alive today. I
accept your free gift of forgiveness right now. Jesus,
I give you my life and ask you to come into my heart to
live in me forever. I want you to be my Lord and
master. I want to follow you from now on. Amen.
