Highlights
from FUSION 08 – Youth Camp
Four
days of FUN and Excitement happened at
Camp Albryoca in Pocahontas, PA. (Monday August 11th -Thursday,
August 14th). 76 kids (ages 11-17) came and
participated in various Games & Activities – from the
human peanut sandwich (spreading peanut butter all over you and
people throwing pieces of bread at you.) Object - was to have the
most bread stuck on you. - To the Picking out Marbles with your Toes
in the muddy baby pools, to Counselor’s hide and seek to many other
great games. The Crafts were awesome – tydying pillow
cases and utensil wind chimes & basket weaving. The Food
was absolutely terrific and very delicious. Campfires
– was singing silly songs and getting to know people better.
Service project - 76 school kits were made for poor children
and 19 fleece blankets were completed.
Childcare averaged 17 little kids a
day and had a great time – flying kites, hiking, and doing crafts.
The speaker Rob Culler was fantastic and really seemed
to get the kids attention, he also like interacting with the kids
with the games and activities. The speaker sessions all started a
worship time of singing songs. Every day
there was pool time. Lynn Lais and came and gave a
pottery demonstration. Each cabin (4 boy’s cabins & 4
girl’s cabins) had 2 counselors. They made a team flag
(located on the wall in the back), they had devotion time and
bonded with each other. All the staff
got together and bombarded all the kids after dinner one night with
water balloons, shaving cream & water guns. – What a BLAST that
WAS!!!!!
A slide show
of all the weeks’ memories was shown.
